Annual Liability Insurance
Being involved in media production puts you in a position of potential liability for all types of risks. For instance, if someone injures themselves on set or there is damage caused to a location, you maybe liable to pay any compensation.
The liability insurance policies we provide are:
- Public Liability Insurance
- Employer’s Liability Insurance
Public Liability Insurance
If you are shooting on location, public liability insurance is mandatory to ensure the producer is covered for any accidental damages that might occur as a result of a shoot. It also covers members of the public in the event that they are accidentally injured during your production. Key features are:
- Damage to Property
- Bodily Injury to any person
- Limit of Indemnity £2,000,000; £5,000,000 or £10,000,000
- Annual cover or part of a combined policy
- No forms to fill in
- Documents e-mailed to you
Employers’ Liability Insurance (UK producers only)
If you are a UK producer working on a production with cast and crew members, it is the producer’s responsibilty to insure them against the possibiliy of any injuries that might occur whilst filming. Employers Liability safe guards the producer in the event that an employee sustains accidental bodily injury and you become legally liable to pay for any compensation.
This insurance is compulsory by UK law if you employ anyone paid or unpaid, PAYE or labour only sub-contractors, casual or permanent. So even if you have volunteers or freelancers on the production, it is still compulsory that employers liability is in force. Key features of cover are:
- Bodily injury to any cast, crew or extra
- Limit of indemnity £5,000,000 or £10,000,000
- Annual cover combined with public liability
