Weather Cancellation Insurance (Short Period)

Weather cancellation insurance is a contingency plan, in the event of unpredictable atmospheric conditions when filming on location.

A delay in shooting as a result of adverse weather can cause production to be rescheduled and consequently go over budget. Additional shoot days, extra travel and the possible loss of key talent caused by a conflict in rescheduling could cancel the production entirely.

Insurable Perils

Covering from one hour on a single day to as many hours and days as needed, weather cancellation insurance will help keep you within budget. The perils coverable include:

  • Rain
  • Snow
  • Lightning
  • Tornado
  • Hurricane
  • Temperature
  • Unreasonable photographic conditions
  • Limited filming conditions

Who insures for adverse weather?

If you are planning for a shoot, we will need 14 days advance notice of the production commencing in order to provide terms.  Cover is often suited for the following:

  • Television/film studios
  • Production companies
  • Advertising agencies
